If your toilet has some buildup of calcium or lime, grab a purple or blue Gatorade. This is a super strange toilet cleaning hack, but trust me it works. Pour in a bottle of Gatorade and let it sit for an hour. It will work at eating away any calcium and lime buildup. Then flush your toilet and it will all be gone. If you still have some build up, grab your toilet brush to wipe away any residue!
Prevent Hard Water Stains
Vinegar is a wonder for the toilet because it works great at eliminating and preventing hard water stains. Just soak toilet paper in vinegar and place it on the troubled area in your toilet. Sometimes I find that I have streaks of hard water stains in the side of the bowl that is hard to remove. This method works well for those types of hard water stains. Let the soaked toilet paper work it’s magic overnight. Then in the morning flush and the stain and it should be gone. If you’ve got hard water stains try using vinegar at least once a week to keep it under control.

Water Saving Feature
If your toilet is an older model, you can implement this water saving feature so you use less water! Simply fill an empty 1 liter bottle (like a Pepsi or Coke bottle) with two inches of sand, then fill the rest of the way with water. Make sure the lid is nice and secure and place it in the toilet tank. This will help you reduce how much water is used with every flush. I keep it off to the side so it doesn’t get in the way of the toilet gears.
Get Rid of Urine Smell
If you have a boy that doesn’t aim well when going to the bathroom, you’ve got to try this tip! Mix fresh lemon juice with baking soda until it forms a thick paste. Then apply this around the base of your toilet, and let it sit for 30 minutes. Once the time is up, spray white vinegar onto the paste, it will begin to fizz. When it has stopped fizzing take a damp cloth and wipe up all of the paste and vinegar.

If you have any essential oils at home, take your favorite scent or mix multiples together. Drop a few drops of essential oils onto the cardboard part of the toilet paper roll.
