The only drawback to living in New England is the winters make it almost impossible to grill outdoors all year. Once the warm weather hits, usually around May, my grill is cleaned and ready to go! I love to grill all sorts of foods from meat to veggies and even fruits.
If you’re anything like me, you do a lot of entertaining in the summer and you’re always on the lookout for a great new recipe.
I don’t like to use the bottled marinades on the market as they’re filled with sugars, additives and preservatives I’d rather not consume. So I was super excited to see I could use my essential oils to whip up some great tasting, grill friendly marinades.
Well, I’ve got three recipes I think you’re going to love.
Each recipe yields enough marinade for 1-2 pounds of the protein of your choice.
Enjoy!

¾ cup olive or other oil
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon grated onion
Juice of 1 lemon
2 drops Orange essential oil
2 drops Lemon essential oil
1 drop Ginger essential oil
Combine all ingredients and pour over the protein of your choice in a shallow glass bowl or baking pan. Cover and refrigerate for 1–4 hours before grilling. Discard marinade after use.
