Hello and welcome back!
I’m back with round two of my series in The EMBRACE Training Program. If you read the first piece of content, make sure you go back and do that first before you read any further. You can find Day 1 here.
If you’d like a downloadable PDF of this Lesson, go here.
I want to start off by telling you a little bit more about why I am so passionate about this work.
When I think back to all the women I have coached over the years a common theme emerged. It seems like everyone was waiting for something out there to change so they could start living their life.
Most women were waiting for the number in their checkbook to change or for Prince Charming to come in and swoop them off their feet and save them from their bleak financial state of affairs.
It was sad really.
But I totally got it.
I was a waiter too not that long ago.
I was waiting and hoping and praying for something to be different and to finally be free from the debt that was literally crushing me to death. And when I wasn’t waiting for the numbers to change I was hoping Mr. Right would appear so I could finally let go of the shame, guilt and desperation I felt.
Does this sound and feel like you too?
It’s time to stop waiting and to do something no one can do for us.
And, it all starts with the way we think about money.
In the EMBRACE Training Program, we spend a lot of time identifying the scripts and ideas that don’t serve us and are not aligned with how we want to live our lives.
The EMBRACE Training Program is about being willing to examine those thoughts and actions that don’t serve us any longer and finally toss them aside. If you feel like you’re ready to go all in and are ready to make that happen, I hope you’ll consider joining us in The EMBRACE Training Program.

MINDSET
In The EMBRACE Lifestyle Training Program we have an entire lesson devoted to ways to help you shift your thinking about money so your mindset is primed and ready to help you conquer your financial goals.
This might be one of THE most important lessons of them all…let’s dig in!
I hate to admit this, but I was once a naysayer when it came to the idea that how you think about money is important, if not the most important, part of personal finance. That was until I learned about the concept of a “positive money mindset” and quickly realized this was an integral component of the equation that leads one to a happier financial life.
Your money mindset is the feelings and thoughts you subconsciously develop towards money from your life experiences. Because our thoughts often control our actions, developing a negative money mindset can create a barrier between you and financial health. It can keep you in a place of stress and anxiety, and it can keep you from achieving financial goals.
But just because you’ve developed a negative money mindset or negative thought patterns around money, it doesn’t mean you have to stay there.
Here are four things you can do right now to improve your money mindset and open your heart to financial peace.
RECOGNIZING IS THE FIRST STEP
Step one always seems to be the hardest, and this is no exception. Being self-aware enough to recognize any sabotaging thoughts is not easy, but without doing this, you won’t be able to improve your mindset. Some examples of common self-sabotaging, negative thoughts are:
- I’ll never get out of debt
- I don’t make enough to save
- I’ll never be able to afford that
- I’ll never make as much as so-and-so
- I will never afford a nice home
FORGIVE YOUR PAST
So many of our unquestioned beliefs and behavior patterns today around money are simply things we picked up at childhood or our past. They are not true, and they don’t serve our highest good.
Forgiveness is a way to release them from our heart, so we are no longer blindly re-creating the same patterns and keeping ourselves stuck at the same level of financial peace.
Grab a piece of paper and write down all of the painful memories you have around money – involving your parents, lovers, bosses or even yourself – that makes you feel icky, stressed, anxious or frustrated.
Now, go through your list and practice forgiveness until you release the negative emotion from each memory. You could try:
- Using a mantra such as – I forgive you. I’m sorry. I love you.
- Placing your hand on your heart and simply letting yourself feel the emotions that arise – giving yourself permission to feel them fully without attaching a mental story to them. Often as you let your feelings rise and observe them without judgment, they will naturally dissolve.
CHANGE YOUR STORY
The poet Rumi once said:
“This world is like a mountain. Your echo depends on you. If you scream good things, the world will give it back. If you scream bad things, the world will give it back.”
He is referring to the Universal law of creation. Your inner world (thoughts, beliefs, and feelings) creates your outer reality.
Do you find yourself saying or thinking things like:
I’m so broke… Making money is hard… I’m always down to my last dollar… I never have enough… Wanting money is bad or greedy…?
Try changing your story around money. Start saying and thinking things like:
I’m so blessed… I have everything that I need… the Universe always takes care of me… I give to the world, and I receive… it is safe for me to have abundance… I am provided for.
OPEN YOUR MIND TO OTHER POSSIBILITIES
When it comes to creating, your logical mind can be your worst enemy.
It has a limited capacity to think beyond what it already knows, and it can be quick to tell you things like:
Well, you can’t earn more from your current job, so receiving more money is, frankly, impossible.
When you have unexamined assumptions that you can only receive money in certain pre-determined ways – like a paycheck from a day job – you block the opportunity from finding other amazingly creative ways to bring abundance to you.
I have received unexpected abundance in the form of:
- being invited on an all-expenses-paid trip by a colleague;
- receiving out-of-the-blue job offers;
- closing an old bank account and discovering money in it;
- and finding things I desired for 20 percent of the cost.
Begin by asking: What would it take for more money to come to me? What would it take for me to get paid for being me? What would it take for creative ideas to come to me?
Your inner world creates your outer world, so the more you create feelings of love, peace, and abundance on the inside, the more you will experience them in your external world. But it won’t even matter so much anymore because you will discover that your biggest treasures are within you.

LET’S REVIEW
So let’s review what we discussed today.
First, we discussed why it’s so important to stop waiting.
And then we finished off with why it’s really crucial to tend to your money mindset if you’re serious about changing your financial picture.
Now, just like last time, it’s so important for you to take action on what we discussed today. What I have found that is super helpful to make sure we follow through is to claim what we’re going to do.
So send me an email and just take a minute and tell me:
- Are you ready to stop waiting and shift your mindset?
- Tell me what the journal questions revealed to you.
- Identify what action step you’re going to take this week?
I know it can be tough to take action, but I promise you if you take the time to message me you’re going to feel so much better!
