The Extraordinary Uses for Denture Cleaning Tablets

1. The Toilet

Does your tablet have one of those annoying rings around the bowl, that no matter what you do you can’t get rid of it? Well, denture tablets to the rescue.

Here’s what you do:

1. Drop one cleaning tablet into the toilet bowl and let sit for 20-30 minutes, the water will turn blue as it starts to effervesce.
2. Use your toilet brush to work off any rings or stains in the bowl.
3. Flush, and you’re finished!

Porcelain fixtures respond well to the ingredients in denture tablets making your bowl sparkle like new!

2. The Coffee Maker

When I first started my cleaning business, one of my signature cleaning moves was to clean the coffee maker and put in a fresh coffee filter, so your pot was ready for your morning brew. Once in a while, we would also do a ‘deep cleaning’ of the coffee maker.

Here’s how to do it:

1. Drop two denture tablets in the tank and fill it with water.
2. Run the coffee maker through a regular cycle.
3. Throw away the potful of water and follow-up with two rinse cycles with clean, fresh water.

Hard water leaves mineral deposits in the tank of your coffee maker. It slows the perking of your machine but also changes the taste of your coffee. The denture tablets fizz away these deposits, disinfect the system and leave it super clean!

3. Super Clean Glass

Some glass is hard to clean, particularly flower vases, carafes, cruets, decanters and thermos bottles. You can try to scrub with a bottle brush, but this cleaning hack works so much better.

Here’s what you do:

1. Fill the vase, decanter, etc. with water.
2. Drop in a denture tablet.
3. When the tablet stops fizzing, the mineral deposits will be gone.
4. Rinse thoroughly.

4. Keep Your Diamond Sparkling

I’ve been using this cleaning hack for over 25 years, but so many people have never heard of it. You don’t  need to buy expensive diamond cleaner to get your rings, earrings and pendants sparkling.

Here’s what you do:

1. Fill a cup with water
2. Drop in one tablet
3. Put your rings, earrings, bracelets, etc. into the solution
4. Let sit for a few minutes.
5. Remove, rinse and watch them babies shine!

5. Unclog That Drain

Slow drain got you down? Grab those denture tablets!

Here’s how you do it:

For Slow Drains

1. Drop a couple of tablets into the affected drain.
2. Run the water until the problem resolves.

For More Stubborn Drains

1. Drop three tablets into the affected drain
2. Follow with 1 cup vinegar
3. Wait a few minutes
4. Run hot water until the clog resolves.

6. Clean Enamel Pots and Pans

Do you ever get stains on your enamel cookware? And, no matter how much you scrub, the stains never go away? Well, not anymore. Enamel is an excellent vehicle for the denture cleaning tablet.

Here’s what you do:

1. Fill the pot or pan with warm water.
2. Drop in a tablet or two depending on the size of the cookware.
3. Wait a few minutes.
4. Once the fizzing stops, rinse and reveal your clean, stain-free pots and pans.
