Tips To Tackle Tough House Cleaning Jobs
1. Shower Doors
Shower doors can be a real challenge to keep clean. The build up and water marks are tough to get rid of if you don’t know these secrets.
Start by spraying the seams with a mold and mildew solution and let it sit so it can do its job.
Next, clean off mold, mildew, and streaks with a Mr. Clean Sponge. The Mr. Clean Sponge will get rid of soap scum too.
Use it to get into the cracks of textured glass and to swipe away mold and mildew that might be stuck in the corners. Scrape off any remaining buildup with a razor blade.
Spray the doors with a high-quality glass cleaner and wipe dry.
Once the shower is fully cleaned, treat the doors with a water-repellent product like Rain-X (approximately $5 at home centers and auto parts stores).
To apply, spray or wipe onto the glass, and wipe off with a microfiber cloth. Re-treat every six months.
Treating your glass shower doors with a product like Rain-X creates an invisible film on the glass increasing water repellency, causing the water and soap to bead up and run off the glass.
After each shower, use a squeegee to wipe down the glass to prevent build up.

2. Remove Grease from Kitchen Cabinets
Nothing can be tougher to remove than built up grease and dirt on kitchen cabinets.
To get them clean, pop a damp sponge or cleaning cloth into the microwave and heat for 20 to 30 seconds until it’s hot.
Spray the cabinets with an all-purpose cleaner containing orange oil and let sit while you put on a pair of rubber gloves.
Remove the sponge from the microwave. Wipe off the cleaner with the hot sponge.
Once cleaned consider using Rejuvenate Cabinet Refinisher to restore your cabinets to their previous glory.

3. Spot Clean Food and Drink Spills
Immediately treating spills is the best way to prevent long-term damage to clothing or furniture. But, you’re not going to call in a professional carpet cleaner to clean up a coffee spill.
As a professional house cleaner, one of my favorite cleaning tools is the stain pens, like Tide to Go and the Clorox Bleach Pen Gel.
These pens are designed to remove small stains from upholstery, grout, clothing, rugs, and caulk. Don’t use the bleach pen for any colored fabric or carpet.
Just press the tip onto the stain to release the cleaning solution, then rub the tip across the stain to remove it. Apply more solution by pumping the pen. Continue until the stain is gone.
These pens are portable and cheap ($3 at most stores, but watch for coupons for an even better deal).
Remember to test it on a small, inconspicuous area to make sure it won’t cause damage before applying on a larger area.
