If you’re interested in purchasing essential oils, and you’re not sure which company to go with, and whose claims to believe let me first say, I understand the confusion. When I was first introduced to Young Living, I decided to do my due diligence and for me, it came down to a few critical issues.
1. They Are The Original
Young Living has been around for over 20 years and was the FIRST direct sales company in the essential oil arena. It didn’t have to copy another company’s business strategy because it invented it! Whether you just purchase essential oils from Young Living or decide to become a distributor, you’re working the first and original direct sales essential oil company and as such the best.
2. The Seed To Seal Guarantee
Young Living has been around for over 20 years and has the Seed To Seal Guarantee. What does this mean? They are the only company in the world that owns their farms and grows their crops without chemical fertilizers or pesticides. They practice what they preach by using essential oils for pest control.
Every other company out there buys their products usually from third-party growers in foreign countries where they give 2nd, 3rd, and even 4th distillations. Young Living only gives 1st distillations, so their oils are WAY more potent and provide many more therapeutic benefits. Young Living tests their oils in their labs and also in 3rd party labs and reject 30% of all oils received for analysis.
3. They Are 100% Pure
Oils from Whole Foods (or any health food store) are aroma-grade oils, and while they do smell good, they don’t offer the same therapeutic benefits because most of them contain less than 5% pure essential oil. YL oils are 100% pure with nothing ever added, or taken away.
4. No Expiration Date
Many essential oils have expiration dates, Young Living Essential Oils do not. Properly stored away from heat and sunlight, 100% pure essential oils (excluding citrus) won’t ever go bad and will last indefinitely. If an essential oil has an expiration date, it isn’t pure or has been cut with a carrier oil which will eventually go rancid.
5. Used In Hospitals Nation Wide
Over 50 hospitals in the USA are now using Young Living Essential Oils.
6. Commitment to Quality
Young Living Essential Oils carries 87 single essential oils and 70 essential oil blends. But, if an oil doesn’t pass Young Living’s strict quality standards, they won’t offer it for sale. Consequently, sometimes not all of the oils are available. Young Living Essential Oils meet all industry AFNOR and ISO standards and are subjected to isotope-ratio mass spectrometry (IRMS) analysis which determines whether a particular essential oil is naturally sourced or synthetic (created in a lab).
6. Therapeutic/Medicinal Grade Product
Only 2% of the essential oils sold in North America are suitable for medicinal/therapeutic purposes. Young Living makes 98% of them!
Those are the factors that helped me make an informed decision when deciding to purchase essential oils from Young Living.
